The Election of Hypocrisy

Donald Trump is a major hypocrite. He was said to have stated that, if he’s elected, he’ll begin the process of removing more than two million illegal immigrants (people who had the courage to risk their lives, just to provide their children with an American education), from the United States, and that he’ll force visa waiver countries (or countries whose citizens can come into the U.S. without a visa) to receive their citizens, even if they refuse. (BBC News 1). No, it’s not fair if certain people just come over here and make themselves at home without going through the necessary procedures. One has to keep in mind, though, that, for many of these illegal immigrants, there wasn’t time or money to finalize the required paperwork and pay for transport. Their lives may have been at risk, their children starving. They didn’t have a choice.

The most ridiculous thing about Trump, though, is that all four of his grandparents were born outside of the country, not to mention the fact that his mother herself was born in Scotland and immigrated to the United States. Trump is the son of a Scottish immigrant, people. Yet he claims that all immigrants are criminals and should not be admitted. If that isn’t hypocrisy, I don’t know what is. He’s essentially saying that, yes, his mother managed to make it over here, settle down, and give birth to him (Why did you do it, woman?), but all those other immigrants, those desperate parents and starving children? Yeah, they can stay in their poverty-stricken and war-torn countries. Seriously, man? I hardly think that’s fair.
