Dear Katherine Paterson,
A work of literature that changed my life is The Bridge to Terabithia. I read this book with my father when I was eleven or twelve, and he taught me many lessons that I will remember forever.
The most important lesson that I learned from «The Bridge to Terabithia» is that my family and I are very fortunate in comparison to other families in the world. Before I read the book, I almost never thought about money and being rich or poor. I think the first time I thought about those things was when I read this book. The family in the book is poorer than my family, and I was very sad when I read the part in the book when the toy that the parents gave their son was broken, and the parents did not have the money to buy new toy. I had never experienced anything like that, and I felt very bad when I discovered that there are many children who have experiences like that.
That lesson is very important because it gave me a more global perspective of life. Now, I am more appreciative of my life and what I have, so thank you for giving me that opportunity to learn.
Sincerely,
Ana Peczuh
