Estoy agradecida por la amistad y el apoyo de mi “hermano”, José (y su familia) en Madrid por siempre darme tanto cariño, y por Ignacio y Naty en Argentina por siempre por ser tan buenas personas y porque sé que siempre puedo contar con ellos en cualquier momento. También quiero expresar mi gratitud a Mary Rametta y nuestros maravillosos amigos cordobeses por ofrecerme siempre mucha alegría.
I am thankful for the friendship and support of my “brother”, José (and his family) in Madrid for always showing me so much love, and for Ignacio and Naty in Argentina for always being such good people and because I know that I can always count on them at any moment. I also want to express my gratitude to Mary Rametta and our marvelous friends in Córdoba, Spain for offering me so much happiness.
Quiero darle las gracias al Profesor Paul Goodwin por ser mi consejero y mi mentor y por haberme enseñado y guiado durante mis años en la Universidad de Connecticut. Le debo mucho, mucho. Y, gracias a mis colegas que enseñan idiomas a EO Smith High School por también enseñarme otras maneras de enseñar y por inspirarme a crecer profesionalmente. Y también tengo que mencionar que estoy sumamente agradecida por todo lo que ha hecho el Profesor y Vicepresidente de El Salvador Félix Ulloa, hijo. No sólo era mi profesor a Middlebury College sino también ha trabajado muchísimo con muchos de mis estudiantes, incluso por ofrecerles varias entrevistas o por Skype o por correo electrónico. Hemos aprendido mucho gracias a su espíritu generoso.
Thank you to Professor Paul Goodwin for having been my advisor and mentor and for having taught me and guided me during my years at the University of Connecticut. I owe him a great deal. And, thank you to my colleagues in the world language department at EO Smith High school for also teaching me other ways of teaching and for inspiring me to grow professionally. I also want to mention that I am very grateful for everything that Professor and Vice President of El Salvador, Félix Ulloa, hijo has done for me and my students. Not only was he my professor at Middlebury College, but also he has worked with many of my students, even granting them numerous interviews via email and one very special one via Skype. We have learned a great deal due to his generous spirit.
Y, por fin, claro, les agradezco a mi familia por ser tan paciente conmigo durante un año difícil (no sólo por COVID-19 sino también por las muchas personas que perdí entre septiembre 2019 y octubre 2020…entre ellas mi padre y mi tío Bob). Mis tías Pat y Marge son muy especiales y sé que mis hermanos y yo tenemos mucha suerte por tenerlas en la vida.
And, finally, of course, I thank my family for being so patient with me during a difficult year (not only due to COVID-19 but also due to the many people I lost between September 2019 and October 2020, among them my father and my Uncle Bob). My aunts, Pat and Marge, are very special and I know that my siblings and I are lucky to have them in our lives.
