I always try to keep the cards, letters, and notes I receive from people because I’m very sentimental. In there, I even have things I’ve received from people I don’t talk to anymore because they mean that much to me. This is mostly because I have a really big fear of forgetting people, memories, etc and this reassures me that if I do forget something, I have something to remind me.
Siempre trato de guardar las tarjetas, cartas y notas que recibo de la gente porque soy muy sentimental. Incluso tengo cosas que he recibido de personas con las que ya no hablo porque significan mucho para mi. Esto se debe principalmente a que tengo un gran miedo a olvidar a las personas, los recuerdos, etc, y esto me asegura que si olvido algo, tengo algo que me lo recuerda.

The box, and the Cuban money in it, was given to me by my grandparents on my first trip back to Cuba. I really couldn’t leave this behind because it’s one of the few things that I have left from my grandfather and the memories it brings back are ones that are very important to me.
La caja, y el dinero cubano que tiene adentro, me la regalaron mis abuelos en mi primer viaje de regreso a Cuba. Realmente no podía dejar esto atrás porque es una de las pocas cosas que me quedan de mi abuelo y los recuerdos que me trae son muy importantes para mi.

The Price of Salt is one of my favorite books and my annotations are irreplaceable. Anyone who knows me, also knows that I am not myself without books so it’s obvious that I would bring a book with me.
